I am seeking a PhD student who is passionate about geospatial data science and transportation geography. My research centers on human mobility in the contexts of environment, equity, and health.

Current projects span three major themes:

1. Mobility perception data modeling and automation using GeoAI, GenAI, and big data analytics, aiding human-centered transportation decision making,
2. Optimization of transportation resource allocations prioritizing accessibility-oriented, sustainable urban developments,

𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀

• Funding: Full stipend + tuition waiver (details provided to eligible candidates)
• Start date: Fall 2025 / Spring 2026

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

• Proficiency in Geographic Information Science (GIS)
• Basic knowledge in statistics & machine learning
• Intermediate programming skills (Python and/or R)
• Excellent reading and academic writing skills
• Strong passion for research and teamwork

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

• Master’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Urban Planning, or related field
• Experience with transportation-related big data (e.g., cell phone data, vehicle telematics, social media data, street view imagery)
• Experience with survey-based data collection and mobility tracking apps
