🧾 Key Responsibilities:
Aurigene is looking for a qualified Scientist to strengthen its Process Chemistry R&D team, focusing on innovative, scalable, and regulatory-compliant processes. You will:
- Design and execute multi-step synthesis experiments to improve yields and purity of pharmaceutical compounds
- Optimize lab processes for successful scale-up from mg to kg, facilitating tech transfer to pilot/kilo-scale plants
- Perform detailed structural characterization using IR, NMR, Mass Spectrometry, GC, and HPLC techniques
- Conduct robust troubleshooting in organic synthesis, ensuring project milestones are met on time
- Prepare process development reports, risk assessments, and technology transfer documents
- Document experiments accurately in laboratory notebooks and maintain compliance with internal SOPs
- Perform literature surveys using SciFinder, Reaxys, and similar tools for synthetic route planning
- Ensure compliance with cGMP guidelines and internal safety procedures.
🔍 Desired Candidate Profile:
- M.Sc in Organic Chemistry from a recognized institution
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in API development, custom synthesis, or route scouting
- Knowledge of kilo lab or pilot plant operations is an added advantage
- Strong analytical interpretation skills with exposure to QC/QA documentation
- Proficiency in operating analytical instruments and software
- Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage timelines in a fast-paced research-driven environment.
