🧠 About the Role:

As the HR Operations & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all HR operational functions with a strong focus on statutory compliance, payroll management, vendor contracts, and social audits. You will act as the key point of contact for ensuring all employee-related processes comply with internal standards and external regulations, particularly those aligned with pharma industry standards and labour laws in India.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

We are seeking a seasoned HR professional with a demonstrated track record in the following areas:

1. Statutory Compliance
  • Complete understanding and implementation of Labour Laws, Factories Act, Minimum Wages, ESIC, PF, Gratuity, and Shops & Establishment Act

  • Audit readiness and documentation for government inspections and pharma regulatory audits

  • Handling compliance for contract labor and third-party staff

2. Payroll Management
  • End-to-end payroll processing for large employee bases

  • Salary structure management, taxation (TDS), and benefits administration

  • Use of payroll software like SAP, GreytHR, or Zoho Payroll

3. HR Operations & Vendor Contract Management
  • HRMS administration and employee lifecycle management (Onboarding to Exit)

  • Handling agreements with manpower vendors, consultants, and contract agencies

  • Ensuring compliance from all external HR service providers

4. Social Audits Exposure
  • Experience handling SEDEX, BSCI, or SA8000 audit frameworks

  • Exposure to audits from global pharma clients or CSR audit initiatives

5. Communication Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Stakeholder engagement with leadership, government authorities, and cross-functional teams

  • HR policy communication and grievance handling

🎯 Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all labor laws and regulations applicable to the pharma manufacturing sector

  • Implement and manage robust HR operations frameworks and optimize HR processes for efficiency

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors for HR, social, and statutory audits

  • Maintain records and documentation to ensure audit trail readiness

  • Coordinate with payroll service providers, process payroll and benefits accurately, and resolve employee queries

  • Manage vendor contracts and compliance for third-party HR service providers

  • Develop, implement, and track HR SOPs, policies, and checklists

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the plant and corporate leadership on HR compliance matters

👤 Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Postgraduate in HRM / MBA in HR or equivalent

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HR within Pharma, Biotech, or Chemical manufacturing

  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Workspace, and payroll/HRMS software

  • Self-driven with a high level of integrity and discretion

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills
