📝 Key Responsibilities

Apply ICD-10-CM coding standards to abstract diagnostic data from medical records with a focus on Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding.

Review, analyze, and assign accurate diagnosis codes for risk adjustment purposes.

Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations and CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) guidelines.

Utilize medical terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and ICD guidelines to validate coded information.

Identify and flag documentation deficiencies or inconsistencies that impact coding accuracy or reimbursement.

Work in coordination with other coders and quality assurance specialists to ensure quality deliverables.

Candidates with HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) knowledge will be given preference.

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with Cotiviti’s data security protocols.
✅ Candidate Profile

Minimum of 1.2 years of professional experience in HCC coding

Must hold an active AAPC (e.g., CPC, CRC) or AHIMA (e.g., CCS, RHIT) certification

Strong working knowledge of HCC coding models, RAF scores, and Medicare Advantage programs

Experience or familiarity with HEDIS quality measures is highly desirable
