🔍 Job Role: Plant Pathologist – R&D
This role offers a unique blend of laboratory diagnostics, field pathology, and collaborative research with agronomists, AI scientists, and engineers.
🧪 Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, profile pathogens, and build early-stage disease datasets
- Perform field sampling, pathogen isolation, culturing & DNA-based diagnostics (ELISA, LAMP, LFA)
- Co-develop and test rapid detection tools (strip-based, sensor-based systems)
- Support lab/greenhouse/field trials and assist in integrated pest management (IPM) evaluations
- Track and incorporate updates in export & phytosanitary protocols for major markets (EU, USA, Japan)
🎓 Eligibility & Preferred Background
- M.Sc. in Plant Pathology, Microbiology, or Plant Protection
- Solid foundation in plant disease diagnosis, culturing techniques, and phytopathological assessments
- Bonus: Prior exposure to phytosanitary/export requirements, GLP protocols, or on-farm trials
