Are you passionate about enzymes, sustainability, and cutting-edge biocatalysis? We are looking for two highly motivated PhD candidates to develop innovative biocatalysts for:
Position 1: Green hydrogen production
Position 2: Fluorinated synthetic building blocks for sustainable synthesis
What You Will Do
As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will:
✅ Design and engineer new-to-nature enzymes
✅ Clone genes, express and purify proteins
✅ Perform directed evolution experiments
✅ Characterize enzyme function and activity
✅ Use computational tools for enzyme design
✅ Supervise BSc and MSc students
Who You Are
🎓 MSc (completed or near completion) in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, or a related field
🔬 Enthusiastic about enzyme mechanisms, biocatalysis, and protein engineering
🤝 A team player who enjoys working in an international, interdisciplinary environment
💡 Previous experience in molecular biology, enzymology, chemical synthesis, or computational protein design is a plus!
