Why are we still paying 50% more for the same medicine, just because of a brand name?
Here’s a real-life example:
* Shelcal HD (by Torrent): ₹150
* Cipcal HD (by Cipla): ₹104
Both are manufactured by Pure & Cure Healthcare Pvt Ltd, Uttarakhand.
Same formulation. Same dosage. Same factory.

Just a different marketing labeland suddenly, the price jumps 50%.
Would you pay extra for a water bottle in a mall just because of the location?
You used to. But then the government stepped in and standardized MRP, no matter where you buy it.
Same with cardiac stents, once sold at wildly inflated prices, until the government capped costs, saving countless lives and crores in treatment expenses.
So why not do the same for prescription medicines, where the stakes are even higher?
We need transparent pricing. People deserve to know that alternatives exist and that they’re equally safe, effective and legal.
If you’re reading this, flip the strip next time you buy a medicine. Look beyond the brand. You might save more than just money.
Let’s make affordability a norm, not a surprise.
